WE BUY JUNK CARS

and trucks!

Our metal recycling facility accepts all types of junk cars, regardless of their condition. Whether your car is missing parts, damaged, or no longer runs, we will take it off your hands and pay you a fair price for its metal content.

ACCEPTED MATERIALS

at martell metal recycling.

SHRED MATERIAL

Shred material must be at least 65% steel.

Cars can have a maximum of five tires per vehicle. We will not accept individual tires even with the wheels – no tires not associated with a vehicle will be taken for free.

Exceptions and limitations:

  • No campers

  • No complete trailer homes accepted (contain excessive weight that is non-metallic)

  • No motor homes

  • Straight trucks, busses, and grain trucks will only be accepted as shred unless prior arrangement was made with management

  • No Water softeners

  • No Safes

  • No Televisions

  • Water heaters should be pinched

UNPREPARED STEEL

Clean steel around ¼” thickness. If you bring in uncut steel, it needs to have any tires, hoses, plastics and all material considered shred and/or non-ferrous materials before it crosses the scales.

#2 STEEL

Material is 3’ x 18” size or less and ¼” thickness. Minor variations are acceptable (ex: a piece or two that is slightly larger or thinner will be acceptable). No materials that exceed 5’ in length are accepted.

Material must be clean – if it contains anything considered as shred, the entire load will only be accepted as shred material. We do not sort on-site. If you want to correct it, it needs to be done off property.

CAST IRON

We accept #1 Auto Cast Iron which includes:

  • Brake drums

  • Auto rotors

  • Heads (no spark plugs)

  • Engines (no crankshafts, camshaft, and pistons in blocks)

  • Engines that are 350 Chevy or smaller – larger engines can’t be accepted as additional processing is necessary.

  • Manifolds

Cast Iron loads can’t include:

  • Wheel bearing

  • Exhaust manifolds with shrouds

  • Spark plugs or injectors

  • Crankshafts

  • Camshafts

  • Pistons

  • Bolts (minor amounts are acceptable)

  • Cylinder Sleeves
